Before internet was around, it was a difficult task to find rare Alain Prost memorabilia. This Alain Prost fansite exists since 1995. Therefore it's older than both Google and eBay. In the past, this page contained lots of tips where collectors could find Alain Prost memorabilia. This is not necessary anymore. Nowadays, you can just search for "Alain Prost" on auction platforms like eBay or Delcampe and always get hundreds of results.
Anyway, if you are looking for really special items like original helmets, driver suits and other rare items, it's still a good idea to contact specialized stores. It's important to know that original items of Alain Prost are often very expensive... For example, original worn Alain Prost helmets in good condition are normally sold for over 15'000 US-Dollars... Therefore, some people try to sell forgeries. I recommend asking the seller how he got the item and check the information with the producer (for example Sparco suits, Arai or Bell helmets)! The same is true for autographs. If you have doubts about the authenticity of an Alain Prost autograph, you can always contact me and I will tell you if I think it's original and if it's worth buying it.

For video tapes of F1 races with mostly German comments, you can contact Formel 1 Club Gattendorf. This Austrian Formula 1 Club sells DVDs of every race Alain participated in! If you speak German, you can become a member and get the tapes even cheaper! They also have other memorabilia for sale...
