News of 22nd May 1997

While the rumours about Villeneuve as a Prost driver are over for the moment, because everybody knows that Alain's new French company is founded to find new sponsors for Team Prost, there are new rumours about Damon Hill as a Prost driver in 1998. Damon said in an interview, that he is impressed by the performances of Team Prost...

Alain Prost was asked in a German interview (available on interview-page), if he will build up an all-French team with Michelin, French drivers and French sponsors only... Alain answered, that he doesn't think, that his team will use Michelin-tyres next year and that he doesn't really want a 100 percent-French team. But he confirmed, that at least one driver will always be from France, possibly also the second driver. Alain also said, that it's too soon by far to think about the drivers for next year.

I think that Panis will drive for team Prost in 1998, if he shouldn't get a good offer from another Topteam... Possible teammates could be Collard, Alesi, Hill... But as Alain said, it's not yet time to think about this...
