There are new rumours regarding Team Prost: As I already wrote in the news of 05.05.1998, John Barnard is told to work for Alain very soon... It seems to be already quite sure, that John Barnard will change from Arrows to Alain's team! Barnard gave notice to Arrows although he had a contract for three years. So, there will be a lawsuit regarding this between Tom Walkinshaw and John Barnard. Anyway, it's told, that Barnard negotiated during two days with Alain in Paris (Alain owns a flat in Paris)... John Barnard is an old friend of Alain - as you know, they worked together when Alain still drove for McLaren-TAG. Later, when Alain changed to Ferrari for the 1990-season, John Barnard was one of the reasons why Alain changed... But then, Barnard didn't work for Ferrari 1990/1991, which was at this time a disappointment for Alain.

Alain is also speaking with Steve Nichols, who is working for McLaren at the moment and was working together with Alain during his McLaren-days. It's even possible that both Nichols and Barnard could work for Team Prost at the same time... It seems, that Alain tries to build a team with all the people he worked with when he had his successful time at McLaren-TAG and Williams-Renault...

As you know, the rumours about driver-changes for next season have already begun... Alain said, that he wants to keep both Olivier Panis and Jarno Trulli. But if one of the actual drivers would not be driving for Alain next year, he would chose Heinz-Harald Frentzen, if possible...
