There have been lots of news regarding Team Prost recently, and now I finally found some time to update the news section of AP-H3... First of all, Team Prost Grand Prix presented the new car AP02 on 25^th January 1999. All team members were very optimistic. Alain said, that the target is the third or fourth place in the F1 constructors championship behind McLaren and Ferrari.

The new Peugeot-engine "A18" is an evolution engine, smaller and lighter than the "A16" used in 1998... For the season 2000, a completely new Peugeot engine is planned.

John Barnard, who works in England as a technical advisor for Alain's Team, said, that the front part of the car will change in the future... He was also very confident, that the Prost-Team will become a top team with the help and know-how of his company, B3 Technologies...

During the first half of February, most teams were testing in Barcelona. Team Prost didn't look too good there. Although I think, that winter testing times never say too much about the cars, it seems, that again McLaren and Ferrari will be the teams to beat. Followed by Benetton, Williams and Sauber. Team Prost was in the field with Arrows, Stewart, Minardi and Stewart. So, it doesn't seem, that Alain's team will be fighting for wins this season... Especially, as they had some engine problems and a blown engine, too...
