Alain's Team, Prost Grand Prix, Dassault Systemes and the computer-company IBM announced on 12th March 1997 the signing of a technological partnership for two years. As a result of a benchmark competition between several CAD-CAM systems, Prost Grand Prix has decided to install 10 licenses of CATIA Solutions Version 4, release 1.7, on Sun Workstations at its factory in Magny Cours. Dassault Systemes and IBM will help Alain's team with advice and technical support for CATIA Solutions. Training of the CAD-CAM team started in February and is run by IBM. Thanks to CATIA, the team now has a complete integration tool at its disposal, to manage every element of the Formula 1 in a fully-digital model, from design to maintenance. Prost Grand Prix can now gain a lot of time in development of new projects. The CAD-CAM-system will help to make big changements of the cars/gearbox in a short time (even during the racing season)!

The system will be used to design the Prost-Peugeot 1998. So, we can be confident to see some very good results of Team Prost GP in 1998...
